Update: Coronavirus & Gendun Drubpa Activities

Our Centre is following the protocol recommended by WHO (World Health Organization), and updates by Provincial Medical Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry. See BC Centre for Disease Control  where recommendations are posted daily.

We are experiencing extraordinary times, as portrayed by the corona virus news coverage. The immediate response is to ask what we can do to limit our exposure. Because of the potential risks associated with the COVID-19 virus, the Management Committee of Gendun Drubpa Buddhist Centre has decided to cancel all classes and special events, effective Monday, 16-March-2020. Currently, this will be in effect until at least the end of April.

FPMT Spiritual Director, Lama Zopa Rinpoche has offered advice on how to protect from the coronavirus. It is important we remove any physical conditions for the virus to spread. But without addressing the deep karmic causes of sickness, our efforts at protection will have no power. We ask for your understanding in implementing this holistic approach. This will be beneficial for ourselves as well as for our communities locally and across the globe.
